OnePlus Turbo 6X Series Is Coming LCD vs OLED, Dimensity 7400 vs Snapdragon: Everything We Know

OnePlus is preparing to expand its Turbo lineup with a brand new series called the Turbo 6X, and it is arriving much sooner than most people expected. Just months after the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V launched in China back in January 2026, the company is already moving to fill the gap below those models with two new phones targeting the budget and entry-level mid-range segment. Here is everything confirmed and rumoured about the Turbo 6X series so far.

What Is the OnePlus Turbo 6X Series?

The OnePlus Turbo 6X series is the next addition to OnePlus's China-focused Turbo lineup, which was introduced earlier this year as a performance and gaming oriented sub-brand sitting below OnePlus's main numbered flagship series. The Turbo 6 launched in January 2026 at a starting price of 1,699 yuan approximately $235 USD and was notable for being the only phone in its price range to offer a flagship-grade 1.5K 165Hz OLED display alongside the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Turbo Edition chip.

The Turbo 6X takes a different approach. Rather than chasing premium specifications, it is positioned as a more accessible entry point into the Turbo ecosystem covering both an entry-level LCD variant and a step-up OLED Pro model.

The Two Models What Each One Brings

The series consists of two phones: the standard OnePlus Turbo 6X and the OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro. The information available so far comes from a leak shared by the Chinese blogger Digital Xiaolian Tiao on May 29, 2026, reported by iGeekphone and Gizmochina.

The OnePlus Turbo 6X is the base model. It features a 144Hz LCD display a deliberate choice that keeps costs down while still delivering above-average refresh rate performance for gaming and everyday scrolling. The chipset is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400, a capable mid-range processor built on a 4nm process that delivers solid everyday performance and respectable power efficiency at this price tier. The 144Hz LCD and Dimensity 7400 combination positions the Turbo 6X as a gaming-friendly budget phone that does not cut corners on refresh rate even while using a more affordable panel type.

The OnePlus Turbo 6X Pro steps things up considerably. The display upgrades to a 1.5K OLED panel running at 144Hz the same screen quality tier that made the Turbo 6 stand out in its segment. The chipset is either the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 or the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, with the final chip selection not yet confirmed ahead of the official launch announcement. Either way, the Pro model targets buyers who want OLED display quality and a Qualcomm-powered experience at a price point below the Turbo 6.

What We Do Not Know Yet

Detailed specifications beyond the display and chipset information have not been confirmed. Battery capacity, camera system, RAM and storage configurations, fast charging speeds, pricing, and the exact launch date are all unconfirmed at this stage. Based on the Turbo 6 series as a reference point which launched with a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, 50MP main camera with OIS, IP68/69 water resistance, and 100W wired charging it is reasonable to expect the Turbo 6X series to carry some of those features in a more modest configuration. However, nothing is confirmed and it would be premature to state specific numbers without official information.

The Context How the Turbo 6X Fits Into OnePlus's 2026 Strategy

The Turbo 6 series launched in January 2026 at 1,699 yuan and was a clear attempt to dominate the performance-focused mid-range segment in China. The Turbo 6X appears designed to extend that reach further down the price ladder, making the Turbo branding accessible to buyers with tighter budgets who still want gaming-optimised hardware.

This follows a broader pattern across Chinese smartphone brands in 2026. Xiaomi, Redmi, Realme, and OPPO have all been expanding their gaming-friendly sub-series into lower price brackets, and OnePlus is doing the same with the Turbo lineup. The two-model strategy one LCD, one OLED is also a deliberate move to cover two distinct buyer groups simultaneously without cannibalising the Turbo 6's position.

Globally, the Turbo series is expected to reach international markets under the Nord branding. The Turbo 6 is widely expected to launch as the OnePlus Nord 6 in India and other markets, and the Turbo 6X could follow a similar path, potentially arriving as the Nord 6 CE or a similarly positioned model later in 2026.

When Will It Launch?

The launch is expected next month in China based on the leak from May 29, 2026. No specific date has been confirmed by OnePlus officially. More detailed specifications are expected to surface in the coming weeks as the launch gets closer.
