Honor has quietly added two new devices to its Play series in China, the Honor Play 11 Plus and the Honor Play 10 5G. Both phones launched without fanfare but are already available for purchase on Honor's official platforms. The two devices take different approaches to the same goal: maximum battery life at a budget price. Here is a complete breakdown of both models.
Honor Play 11 Plus: AMOLED, Dimensity 6500 Elite, 7,000mAh
The Honor Play 11 Plus is the more premium of the two, and the AMOLED display is the first thing that separates it from the competition at this price tier. The 6.6-inch panel runs at 2,600 x 1,200 resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color support, and a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. It also includes 3,840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming for eye comfort a feature typically found on more expensive devices. The front glass is aluminosilicate for scratch resistance.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6500 Elite chipset paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 and includes AI-driven features including the YOYO smart assistant, AI notes, and translation tools.
The rear camera is a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and up to 10x digital zoom. The front camera is 8MP for selfies and video calls. The phone supports 1080p video recording.
The 7,000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and reverse charging, allowing the Play 11 Plus to top up other devices. Despite the large battery, the Play 11 Plus measures just 7.34mm thick and weighs 185 grams. Additional features include an in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, and NFC.
Honor Play 10 5G: LCD, Snapdragon 6s Gen 3, 7,000mAh
The Honor Play 10 5G takes a different set of trade-offs. It features a 6.8-inch LCD screen with 2,412 x 1,080 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 700 nits typical brightness, and an 85% NTSC color gamut. The LCD panel is a clear step down from the Play 11 Plus's AMOLED in color depth and contrast, but it contributes to a lower price point.
The Play 10 runs on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and ships with MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15. It is paired with 8GB of RAM. The rear camera is a single 50MP sensor and the front camera is 5MP.
The 7,000mAh battery is paired with 45W fast charging. The phone measures 8.24mm thick and weighs 204 grams. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.1 and an IP65 dust and water resistance rating a practical durability feature for a budget device.
Who Should Buy Which Model
The choice between the two is straightforward. If display quality matters and for most people who use their phone for streaming and social media, it does the Play 11 Plus is worth the additional cost for the AMOLED panel alone. Its slimmer build, newer Android version, AI features, and in-display fingerprint scanner all add to the case.
The Play 10 5G is the right choice for buyers whose only real priority is maximum battery endurance at the absolute lowest price. The LCD screen and older chipset are real compromises, but the 7,000mAh cell and 45W charging on a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 device is a reliable combination for users who simply want a phone that does not need charging every day.
Both phones are currently available in China. No global or India launch date has been confirmed for either model.
