Android 17 is coming this summer, and Samsung is moving faster than usual to deliver it as One UI 9. The One UI 9 beta already launched on May 13, 2026 for the Galaxy S26 series, and the stable release is widely expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 at Galaxy Unpacked in London on July 22, 2026. Here is everything confirmed and everything expected about which Samsung devices will receive the update and when.
One Important Thing to Understand Before the List
Samsung has not yet published an official One UI 9 eligible devices list. The company typically releases that list only after the beta program begins expanding beyond the initial flagship wave. The device list below is based on Samsung's publicly stated 4 to 7 year update policy, early Android 17 firmware leak data, and industry analysis. It is the most accurate picture available right now, but Samsung's official confirmation is still pending for many models, particularly in the mid-range and budget segments.
What Is Confirmed Right Now
The One UI 9 beta launched on May 13, 2026 for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra in Germany, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and the United States. Beta 2 arrived on May 26, expanding to India and Poland while focusing on bug fixes, stability improvements, and animation refinements.
The stable One UI 9 release is expected in July 2026, most likely coinciding with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 launch. New foldables traditionally ship with the latest One UI version out of the box, making this the most reliable anchor point in the entire rollout timeline.
Devices That Will NOT Receive One UI 9
Before covering who gets the update, it is equally important to be clear about who does not. Samsung officially moved the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Z Fold 4 to a quarterly security update schedule in early February 2026. The Galaxy S21 FE and Galaxy A53 have also reached the end of their major OS update cycles. These devices will continue receiving security patches but will not receive One UI 9 based on Android 17.
Samsung Flagship Phones Expected to Receive Android 17
These devices have remaining major OS update cycles and are expected to receive One UI 9 based on Samsung's 7-year update commitment for flagship devices launched from 2023 onward.

Note that not every device on this list will receive all of Android 17's most advanced features. Capabilities like Gemini Intelligence and advanced Galaxy AI tools require higher-end hardware and will be limited to more recent models even after the core One UI 9 update arrives.
Mid-Range and Budget Phones Expected to Receive Android 17
These devices are expected to receive One UI 9 based on Samsung's 4 to 6 year update policy for mid-range and budget models. However, Samsung has not officially confirmed this list, and some budget models may receive a lighter version of One UI 9 or experience delays extending into 2027.
