Samsung's next generation of smartwatches appears to be inching closer to launch. Two upcoming Samsung smartwatches, carrying model numbers SM-L3550 and SM-L7150, have now surfaced on China's CMIIT certification platform, adding to a growing list of regulatory appearances ahead of their expected debut. While the certification does not explicitly reveal the product names, the model numbers have previously been linked to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, respectively.
What the Certification Reveals

The appearance of the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 on CMIIT is significant because it typically indicates that a product is nearing its commercial release in the Chinese market. The latest development follows recent listings on both China's 3C certification database and India's BIS certification portal, suggesting an imminent global launch. The 3C certification also revealed that both smartwatches will support 10W wired charging, matching the speeds offered by the current-generation Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra.
What to Expect
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is tipped to be powered by the new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip, which would be a significant upgrade over the Exynos W1000 found in the current Watch Ultra. This would bring Samsung's wearable lineup in line with Qualcomm's latest dedicated smartwatch silicon.
Both smartwatches could debut next month. Samsung typically unveils its new Galaxy Watch lineup alongside its Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip foldable phones at Galaxy Unpacked, which historically falls in July. A July 2026 announcement would align with that pattern.
Pricing and full specifications have not been officially confirmed. Further regulatory certifications and leaks are expected in the weeks ahead as Samsung approaches the launch window.
