Google has released a new firmware update release_5.203 for both the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a, announced on June 2, 2026. The update focuses on general bug fixes and improvements, with no new features listed in the release notes. The announcement had an unusual start: Google first posted it on May 27, then removed it, before republishing the same version number on June 2. The update is currently in a staged rollout and may not be immediately available for all users. To install, users can open the Pixel Buds app on Android, go to More settings, then Firmware update or visit mypixelbuds.google.com on a desktop. Automatic updates can also be enabled to receive future firmware versions without manual intervention.
