Samsung Galaxy A27 5G US and Global Variants Confirmed, What We Know So Far

Samsung's 2026 Galaxy A lineup is already underway with the Galaxy A57 and A37 available in the US market. The third device in this year's A series is now moving closer to launch, and the paper trail it's leaving behind is getting clearer with each passing week. The Galaxy A27 5G has surfaced across multiple regulatory databases in both global and US-specific variants, and the picture of what to expect is starting to take shape.

Multiple Certifications Confirm Both US and Global Variants

The Galaxy A27 has now cleared several regulatory hurdles, which is typically a strong indicator that a launch announcement is not far off.

The device has been certified by Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission under model number SM-A276B/DS. The "B" in the model number confirms this as the global variant, while "DS" indicates dual-SIM support.

Beyond the NBTC listing, the Galaxy A27 has also appeared in the GSMA IMEI database, India's BIS certification, TÜV Rheinland, Samsung's own internal test servers, and twice on Geekbench. That breadth of certifications across multiple regions and databases is not typical of a device that's still early in development this phone is moving toward a launch.

For the US specifically, two distinct model numbers have been identified: SM-A276U for the carrier-locked US version and SM-A276U1 for the unlocked US variant. Samsung also filed a model SM-A2760 for China. The presence of US-specific model numbers strongly suggests the Galaxy A27 will follow the Galaxy A26 to the American market, where its predecessor launched at $299.

Expected Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

Based on Geekbench listings and multiple report sources, the Galaxy A27 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. This would be a notable change from the Galaxy A26, which used Samsung's own Exynos 1380 in most markets. A Snapdragon chip at this price tier would be a genuine improvement in terms of GPU performance and overall efficiency.

The Geekbench results for the SM-A276B have shown two different sessions. The first returned a single-core score of 777 and a multi-core score of 1,802. A subsequent listing using Geekbench 6.7.1 and an 8GB RAM variant showed a single-core score of 994 and a multi-core score of 2,861 a significant improvement of around 28% in single-core and 59% in multi-core. The variation between tests is likely due to different RAM configurations and software optimization states rather than hardware differences.

Camera: Upgraded Selfie Sensor and Triple Rear Setup

Camera details have emerged from multiple early reports. The front camera is expected to be upgraded to a 12-megapixel sensor, stepping up from what was offered on the A26. For the rear camera system, a triple setup is expected: a 50-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel ultrawide, and a 2-megapixel macro lens.

The selfie camera upgrade is the most clearly confirmed detail here, having appeared across several independent reports. The rear camera configuration is based on early leak data and has not yet been officially confirmed by Samsung.

Battery and Charging: 5,000mAh With 25W Fast Charging Confirmed

The TÜV Rheinland certification, which appeared under all five regional model numbers simultaneously, confirmed the charging specification for the Galaxy A27: 25W fast wired charging at 9V × 2.77A. This matches what the Galaxy A26 offered, so no upgrade on the charging speed front.

Battery capacity is expected to be 5,000mAh, consistent with the rest of Samsung's current mid-range lineup. The combination of a 5,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 efficiency should deliver strong all-day endurance.

Software: One UI 8.5 Based on Android 16

The Galaxy A27 is expected to ship with One UI 8.5 built on Android 16 QPR2. Samsung has been extending its software support commitments across the Galaxy A series in recent years, and the A27 is expected to follow suit with multiple years of OS and security updates, though the exact commitment hasn't been officially detailed yet.

Samsung's Brazilian website previously showed the Galaxy A27's model number alongside confirmation of Samsung Wallet support, which confirms some software features are already in place internally.

US Carrier Availability

The Galaxy A27's US-specific model numbers point to broader distribution than just Samsung's own website. Based on current reports, the Galaxy A27 could be carried by Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile the three largest carriers in the US. An unlocked version is also expected to be available directly through Samsung.

Samsung did exactly this with the Galaxy A26, selling it through all three major carriers at $299, and the A27 is likely to follow a similar distribution pattern given the existence of both carrier-locked (SM-A276U) and unlocked (SM-A276U1) model numbers.

Design: Camera Island Continues, Dual SIM for Global Version

The Galaxy A27 is expected to feature the same camera island design language introduced in recent Galaxy A devices. Samsung has used this module layout consistently across the 2025 and 2026 A series, and the A27 appears to continue that direction. The global variant (SM-A276B/DS) retains dual physical SIM support, while US carrier models typically use eSIM alongside a single physical SIM slot.

GSMArena's preliminary listing for the Galaxy A27 shows a 6.7-inch display with Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection an upgrade in screen protection compared to the Galaxy A26 alongside 8GB RAM and 256GB storage in one confirmed configuration.

Launch Timeline: Mid-2026 Expected

Samsung has not officially announced the Galaxy A27 yet. Based on the volume and nature of certifications completed by NBTC, TÜV Rheinland, GSMA IMEI, BIS India, and internal test server appearances an announcement in July or August 2026 is a reasonable expectation. Samsung typically spaces its Galaxy A launches throughout the year, and with the A57 and A37 already on shelves, the A27 fills the next logical slot in the lineup.

More details including official pricing, full spec confirmation, and availability dates will surface once Samsung makes an official announcement.
