Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) Surprise Gets One UI 8.5 Update

Owners of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) just got some unexpected good news. Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 8.5 to the tablet a device that was never officially confirmed to be on the update list.

There were eighteen Galaxy devices that many expected to receive One UI 8.5 but had not been formally confirmed by Samsung. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) was one of them. Samsung has now cleared up any uncertainty by simply pushing the update out.

What Is Rolling Out

The update is currently live for the international 4G/LTE variant of the tablet in Europe, Thailand, and Vietnam. It carries firmware version P625XXUACZE8 and also includes the May 2026 security patch, which addresses 36 known security vulnerabilities. Samsung is expected to expand the rollout to additional regions over the next couple of weeks.

What Is New in One UI 8.5

One UI 8.5 is not a minor maintenance release. On the visual side, the update introduces a transparent blur effect throughout the interface and a floating design for the bottom bar in first-party apps giving the software a noticeably lighter, more modern feel.

Feature additions include a more customizable Quick Panel, direct voicemail support, Apple AirDrop compatibility via Quick Share, partial screen recording, new camera filters, pollen information in the Weather app, enhanced theft protection, and improved battery management.

How to Check for the Update

Go to Settings → Software update → Download and install. If the update is not showing yet, it is still rolling out in stages — check again in a few days.
