Samsung's Exynos 2700, codenamed Ulysses, is a next-generation 2nm GAA chipset built on Samsung Foundry's SF2P process, planned for mass production in the second half of 2026 and targeting 50% of Galaxy S27 units double the Exynos 2600's 25% share on the Galaxy S26. The chip uses ARM C2 CPU cores, supports LPDDR6 memory and UFS 5.0 storage, and specifically targets the thermal and efficiency problems that plagued the Exynos 2600. Samsung officially confirmed its development during the Q1 2026 earnings call with a stated goal of expanding market share through enhanced AI performance. The biggest obstacle remains yield rates, currently sitting at 50-60% against the 70%+ needed to be cost-competitive with TSMC at scale. A successful Exynos 2700 would reduce Samsung's Qualcomm payments significantly, strengthen Samsung Foundry's credibility as a TSMC alternative, and potentially attract external chip customers. The Exynos 2800 is planned to stay on the same 2nm node, focusing on optimization rather than chasing a newer process.
