Samsung's One UI 8.5 rollout is continuing to move down the device list, and the Galaxy M36 is the latest to receive the update. The rollout began in South Korea on June 1, where the phone is sold under the name Galaxy Jump 4. International availability across other markets is expected to follow within the next few days.

What One UI 8.5 Brings to the Galaxy M36
The One UI 8.5 update is based on Android 16 and brings the same visual and feature improvements that Samsung has been rolling out across the Galaxy lineup over the past several weeks. The interface gets a refreshed look with new transparency and blur effects throughout the system, making the overall experience feel cleaner and more modern. The Quick Panel is now more customizable, giving users more control over the arrangement of shortcuts and toggles. Lock screen clock fonts have more options, and automatic lock screen layouts have been added alongside additional downloadable wallpapers.
The Clock app gains a built-in time zone converter, removing the need for a third-party app when checking times across different regions. The Weather app now shows a pollen index alongside the standard forecast a useful addition for users with allergies. The alarm screen supports weather-themed background effects that change based on current conditions.
Samsung Health receives additional sharing options for workout statistics. The Calculator app now provides proactive calculation suggestions based on content copied to the clipboard. Samsung Notes gains full table support with column and row formatting controls. The Reminders app adds early alert options, so users get notified ahead of a deadline rather than exactly at it.
Device Care has been redesigned with a more informative battery section, making it easier to track charging habits and battery health. Theft Protection has been added as a new security layer, and users can now temporarily disable Auto Blocker when needed for installing apps from outside the Galaxy Store.
