Vivo X Fold 6 Key Specs Leaked Dimensity 9500, 200MP Camera, 7,000mAh Battery, and a June Launch

Vivo is getting ready to unveil its next book-style foldable, and the leaks are starting to paint a clear picture of what to expect. The Vivo X Fold 6 is expected to launch in China around June, following the same timing as the X Fold 5 which debuted in June last year. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station has shared the most detailed specifications yet, and there are some genuinely interesting decisions Vivo appears to be making with this generation.

The Chipset Leak That Surprised Everyone

Earlier leaks from November last year suggested the X Fold 6 would use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. The latest and more credible information from Digital Chat Station points to the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 instead. This tracks with Vivo's pattern the X Fold 5 used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rather than the more expensive Snapdragon 8 Elite at the time. Vivo appears to consistently choose the strong upper-tier chip over the absolute top-of-the-range option, which helps keep the foldable price more accessible without sacrificing meaningful everyday performance.

The Dimensity 9500 is built on a 3nm All-Big-Core architecture and is the same chipset powering the Xiaomi 17T Pro. It delivers strong performance and efficiency and is a genuine step up from the Gen 3 chip in the X Fold 5.

Display: Two Screens, Both Getting Slightly Smaller

The inner folding display is leaked at 8.01 to 8.02 inches with 2K resolution, a UTG protective layer, and an E8 AMOLED panel. That is a very slight reduction from the X Fold 5's 8.03-inch inner screen, likely reflecting adjustments made to accommodate a slimmer hinge design. The cover screen comes in at 6.51 inches, down fractionally from the 6.53-inch outer display on the previous model.

Both the inner and outer displays are said to feature under-display fingerprint scanners a meaningful usability improvement that gives you quick biometric unlock from whichever side of the phone you are using.

The 200MP Camera Main or Telephoto?

One of the most discussed elements of the X Fold 6 leak is the 200MP sensor. Vivo has not confirmed whether this will be the primary camera or the telephoto lens. What is confirmed is a triple rear camera system consisting of the 200MP sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP periscope telephoto. The X Fold 5 had three 50MP sensors, so the jump to 200MP in any position represents a substantial camera hardware upgrade for this generation.

Dual 20MP front cameras are also leaked one for each display which is a thoughtful choice for a foldable that gets used as both a phone and a tablet.

Battery: 7,000mAh Is a Meaningful Step Up

The X Fold 6 is leaked with a 7,000mAh battery, which would make it one of the largest batteries ever fitted into a book-style foldable phone. Wireless charging support is also confirmed in the leak. The previous X Fold 5 had a 5,700mAh cell, so this is a 23% increase in capacity significant for a category where battery life has historically been a compromise.

Build: Sub-9mm Folded Thickness and a Carbon Fibre Hinge

Multiple leaks describe the X Fold 6 as targeting a folded thickness of under 9mm, which would place it among the slimmest large-screen foldables ever made. The hinge mechanism is said to use aerospace-grade carbon fibre a material that is lighter and more durable than the metal alloys used in conventional foldable hinges, contributing both to the slim profile and to long-term hinge reliability.

Flagship-grade water resistance is also expected, though the specific IP rating has not been confirmed yet.

When Is It Launching

Based on Vivo's consistent annual pattern and the volume of leaks now circulating, a June launch in China is the most likely scenario. No global or India launch date has been confirmed, though the X Fold 5 did reach the Indian market after its China debut.

None of these specifications are official. They come from Digital Chat Station, a Weibo-based leaker with a strong track record for accurate pre-launch information, but Vivo has not confirmed anything yet.
