Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is a 2026 mid-range phone priced at $550, powered by the Exynos 1680 chipset with a 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display, IP68 rating, and Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides. It weighs just 179g thinner and lighter than most competitors in its class. The triple camera system includes a 50MP main shooter, 12MP ultrawide, and a mostly useless 5MP macro with no telephoto lens. The 5,000mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and delivers all-day endurance. Software is One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 with six years of guaranteed OS updates. The main downsides are a $50 price hike over the Galaxy A56 for largely identical hardware, a slow in-display fingerprint scanner, persistent bloatware including Glance, and no telephoto camera. At $550 it faces tough competition from the Galaxy S25 FE at $500 and the discounted Galaxy A56 at under $400. Worth buying only after a price cut.

The smartphone industry in 2026 has a serious creativity problem. Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra and Google's Pixel 10 Pro are technically outstanding but visually uninspiring — safe, generic designs built to appeal to everyone and excite no one. Nothing, a UK startup now valued at over $1.3 billion, is proving that bold and polarizing design actually builds stronger emotional connections with users. The Nothing Phone 4a Pro at $499 features an asymmetric camera layout and Glyph Matrix display that serve no purely practical purpose but give the phone a genuine personality. Nothing OS further stands out with a consistent monochromatic retro design that users actually want to keep. The argument is simple — phones do not have to choose between being technically capable and being genuinely fun to own. Samsung and Google have the resources to do both, but are currently choosing neither.
